EFL Teachers in Thanet (Broadstairs, Margate & Ramsgate)


The Isle of Thanet (Broadstairs, Margate & Ramsgate) is Cicero's main centre for young learners aged between 13 and 18.

Courses here are seasonal. The main dates for 2010 are:


The Teaching

Lessons are held between 09:30 and 13:00 with a 30-minute break on weekday mornings.

Classes have a maximum of 12 students. Our students come from all over the world, although most are from Europe.

The lesson content depends on the level of the class, but most include grammar, writing, reading, speaking and listening skills, as well as vocabulary-building.


Additional work is available on some afternoons for teachers with experience in A-Level work, covering themes such as characterisation and interpretation of literature. These classes have a maximum of 6 students.


Cicero organises a full programme including trips to London, sports activities and outings to places of interest in the area. Our teachers accompany the students on their activities, although some teaching-only posts may be available.

Requirements

A CELTA or recognised equivalent and a degree.


Please note:


Remuneration

Rates start at £369 per week and depend on qualifications and experience. This includes 15 hours of teaching per week plus 20 hours of accompanying the students on some of their activities.

Assistance with accommodation will be given if required.

The successful applicant will be employed under contract and enjoy the full benefits of holiday and sick pay.
