How will I find the school?

We will send you a street map of Tunbridge Wells before you travel to England. Your host family will take you to school on the first day, or show you where it is the day before.
During busy periods some lessons take place in another building in the town.

What will happen on my first day at school?

When you arrive at school on the first day of your course, our team will be there to welcome you. There is a short written and spoken test, which helps us put you in the right class. We will then show you round the school and give you some information about your stay here.
Your teachers will monitor your progress throughout your course and move you to a higher or lower level if necessary.

Who are the English teachers?

All our teachers are native speakers, qualified as teachers of English as a foreign language and of a very high professional standard.

Who are the students?

Our students come from all over the world so you will have plenty of opportunities to practice your English with them too.

Which courses can I book?

You can book general English courses, general and business English, individual lessons, a combination of group plus individual lessons or Family English courses. You can also book a range of Culture, Sports and Leisure courses.

Please check that your level of English is suitable for the course you choose. You will find details of our levels here.

I am a beginner and don't speak any English yet - have you got a course for me?

Most group courses are for students who can at least speak a little English. Fast Track courses are suitable for beginners. For other courses please check the Entry Level section on the dates and prices list. You can book a Fast Track course of at least 100 lesson hours and then change to one of the other courses.

I am an advanced speaker of English - what can I choose?

Group courses are for students of up to upper intermediate level but not for those whose level is higher than that.
Fast Track courses are suitable for students of all levels.
For other courses please check the Entry Level section on the dates and prices list.

When can I start?

The starting dates for each course are listed on the dates and prices sheet.

Is the school open on public holidays?

Yes, the school is open from Monday to Friday throughout the year, except the Christmas period (see dates and prices sheet for details), including public holidays.

Can I do any extra work to help my English?

Yes. We have books and videos at different levels of English which you may borrow and there is also a listening centre to give you further practice. All of these are free of charge.

I'm still not quite sure which course I should book - can you help me?

Yes; finding the right course is important and our team will take time to help you - just email or telephone us telling us what your aims are and we will advise you as to the best way of achieving those aims.

How can I book a course?

You can fill out the booking form in our brochure and then post or fax it to us, or you can book online at www.cicero.co.uk. Please read our terms and conditions first - you will also find these on our website. We will then send you confirmation of your booking.

How can I pay for my course?

You should pay a deposit of £200 when you book. The rest of your fees should be paid no later than 2 weeks before the course starts.
If you book a course of more than 12 weeks, you may pay for the first 12 weeks before the course starts and the rest in monthly instalments in advance.
You can transfer the fees directly to our bank account or pay by cheque or credit card. You will find details of our bank account on the booking form.

I would like to keep in contact with my family and friends while I am in England - can you help?

Yes. If you bring a computer with you, you can use the school's wireless internet connection free of charge to send and receive emails and use the internet. If you don't bring your own computer, you can use one at the school free of charge.

Can you tell me anything about the students who will be there during my course?

We are not allowed to pass on personal information but we have got an online forum where you can meet other students and ask and answer questions before the course and keep in touch with new friends after your course. We will send you details of how to join our online forum with your booking confirmation.

What can I do after lessons and at the weekends?

There is a lot to see and do in Tunbridge Wells and you will find the latest details at the school.
Some social activities are organised by the school and all our students are welcome to join in. We also have a programme of trips at the weekends, including London, Canterbury, the seaside, towns, villages and castles in the area. You can book these as you wish (they are not included in the course price) or you might prefer to explore London or any of the other places on your own or with some of the other students. We will be pleased to help you plan your trips.
