Terms and Conditions

Lessons

Each lesson hour is 45 minutes.

Public Holidays

The school is open from Monday to Friday from 8th January 2007 until 14th December 2007 for group lessons and until 21st December for individual lessons including all public holidays.

Payment

A deposit of £200 is payable with your booking.
You may pay by credit card (we accept all main cards except American Express), international bank transfer or traveller's cheque. Your booking will be confirmed as soon as we have received payment.
The rest of the course and accommodation fees must be received by Cicero no later than two weeks before your course starts. If payment has not been received by then Cicero reserves the right to cancel the reservation.
If you book a course of more than 12 weeks, you may pay for the first 12 weeks before the course starts and the rest in monthly instalments, in advance. Courses booked for an academic year must be paid for in full in advance.

Change of Course

If you start your course and subsequently wish to change to a course with a lower price you must give at least two weeks' notice. Any such change of course must start on a scheduled starting date for that course. The difference in fees will be credited to you towards an extension of your course or towards another course at the school to be taken at any time during the twelve months subsequent to the change of course. No cash refund will be given. English + Sports, Culture and Leisure courses cannot be changed to other courses and their dates cannot be changed.

Student Holidays

If you book a course of 20 weeks or longer you may take a holiday of up to 12 weeks at any time after the first 8 weeks. You should give the school at least four weeks' notice in advance of any such holiday dates. Your leaving date will be changed but no refund can be given.

English + Sports, Leisure and Culture Courses

Some of these activities take place outside. If any sessions have to be cancelled due to bad weather we will re-schedule them if possible. Where this is not possible you will be invited to take additional English lessons instead. No refund will be given for missed Sports, Leisure or Culture activities.

Cancellation

If you need a visa and your visa is refused we will refund the money you have paid us minus an administrative fee of £50 provided we receive the original letter of refusal from the British Embassy at least one week before your course is due to start.

You can cancel your course at any time before the start date. We recommend that you do this in writing. We will refund the money you have paid less a fee to cover our costs depending on when we receive your cancellation as follows:

There is an additional cancellation fee of £90 for any English + Sports, Culture & Leisure course cancelled at any time.

No refund of course fees is given if you wish to cancel your course after it has started but you may defer the remaining weeks to any time within the next nine months provided you give at least four weeks' notice. If you give less than four weeks' notice then one week will be deducted from the length of the remaining course time. English + Sports, Culture and Leisure courses cannot be deferred and must be taken for the period booked.

If you book accommodation through the school and subsequently cancel that accommodation you must give at least one week's notice. No refund can be given for any accommodation booked but not used during that week.

No refund can be given on any airport transfers booked but not used on the dates for which they have been booked.

No refund will be given for services booked and not used.

Liability and Insurance

Cicero Languages International, its staff, representatives and host families will not be liable for any loss, damage, illness or injury to persons or property however caused except where such liability is imposed under UK law. It is your responsibility to take out insurance to cover all such risks. We also advise you to take out insurance to cover any costs of cancellation or curtailment of your course.

Cicero Languages International will not be held liable in any way if any service contracted to be supplied by them becomes impossible to supply as a result of any industrial or other dispute which is outside the school's control.

If you are not satisfied with any of the services provided by the school you must inform a representative of the school at the earliest opportunity so that we can take appropriate steps to rectify the situation. The school cannot be held responsible for any matters which are not reported.

Data Protection

Some of the information you supply will be passed on to our suppliers such as host families and transfer suppliers and some information may be used for security, credit checking or immigration purposes.

Photographs and Videos

We sometimes take photographs and videos for publicity purposes. If you do not wish to appear in any such materials please inform us no later than the start of your course.
