Who are the host families?

We have lots of different host families: a retired couple

We have a wide range of different host families. Some are young, some are older, some have young children, some have older children; they all enjoy looking after their guests while they are studying at Cicero.

Our students have different wishes. Some want to stay with a family with children or a family with no children, others prefer to stay with older people. If you have any special wishes, please write these on your booking form and we will do our best to find the right family for you.

During my stay in England I had an excellent time with my host family. They treated me as one of them. Myriam, Spain

How do you select the host families?

A host family with a young child

Our local organiser visits all the families personally to find out if they are suitable to host one of our students, whether they are friendly and reliable and, of course, to see if the house is clean and tidy. Our accommodation officer only selects the host families where she feels she would be happy to stay herself.

Your teachers will ask you regularly if you are happy with your family. After the first two or three days you will be asked to write a short report about the family saying whether you are happy there and whether you would recommend them for a future student. If we are not completely happy with your answer, we will take it further and, if necessary, move you to another family.

At the end of your course we will ask you to fill out a detailed questionnaire about your family. All this helps us to maintain our high standard of accommodation.

I would recommend my host family to another student because they are all very friendly and welcoming... my host family has become my second family. Jana, Germany
